Join Us in Preserving the Healing Wisdom of the Maasai

Across the sweeping grasslands of the Maasai Mara, generations of Maasai Elders have cared for their communities using the powerful medicinal plants of their homeland. Today, this priceless knowledge is at risk of being lost.

Our project brings together Maasai Elder and Ethnobotanist Lenkuna Kibelekenya and Author/Illustrator Bibi Jordan who created for you the first tri-lingual digital Storybook and Plant Key with a Safari Journal, a vibrant celebration of culture, healing, and ecological wisdom.

Because we’re asking for your help to preserve, document, and share these medicinal plants, we want to show you the wonder of the Maasai Mara.  So we're offering every visitor to our a website a

free copy of our first book, A Safari Game Drive. Written for children—and for the child in each of us—it introduces the animals, plants, and people that Oloirien is dedicated to supporting.
